Sahara trip from Marrakech 10 days tour

Day 1: Arrive at Marrakesh

On the first day of the Sahara trip from Marrakech with Wow Morocco tours, your tour will start depending on the time of your arrival, you will explore some interesting sites in. If you arrive a little early, you will explore the famous Jamaa Elfna Square which full of all types of entertainers like Storytellers, jugglers, acrobats, snake charmers and more. Then, you will head to your hotel/Riad where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Marrakesh (city tours)

After breakfast in the riad, you will start exploring “The reddish city from which Morocco got its name in French or other languages” Marrakesh. Our team will make sure that you see the most important sites of historical and cultural interest, including the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian tombs, the Bahia Palace. After lunch at a restaurant near the Jammaa El Fna square, you will walk through the souks (local markets) and view hundreds of handicrafts. In the Afternoon, you will have some free time to wander by yourself through the other parts of the city.

Day 3 Free Day in Marrakesh

Today on the Sahara trip from Marrakech you will enjoy your full free day in Marrakesh to explore more and relax more, to forget the road for some time and be ready for your flight home. You will enjoy the visit Jamaa Elfna square, where you will see a group of street Performers performing different traditional talents, like story tellers, acrobats and more. You will also enjoy the panoramic view of the city from the terrace of your Riad/Hotel.

Day 4 : Essaouira day trip

After Breakfast, you will head to visit another beautiful city in Morocco which is Essaouira. It is well known for its long historical background and you will spend the day exploring all those beautiful historical monuments with ancient handicrafts and enjoy the colorful stance of the city. This city was one of the special places for Moroccan Jewish who form an important component of the Moroccan culture … It has one of the oldest Medina in Morocco and it’s your opportunity to have some fresh fish in the port. In the afternoon you will come back to Marrakesh to spend the night in your hotel/Riad.

Day 5: Marrakesh –Ouarzazate – Boumalan Dades

The next morning our transport will pick you up from your Riad Just after breakfast, head to the High Atlas crossing the beautiful pass of Tizi Tichka and you will have some stops along the way to enjoy the panoramic view you will encounter along every part of the road especially some small Berber villages scattered all over the place.

And you will continue to the south by visiting the Ait Ben Haddou kasha which declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. And you will enjoy the place where some famous films were made like the of thrones, Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, Sahara with Penélope Cruz… and many more. Next you will have some free time for lunch in the village. After that, you will continue to Ouarzazate also known as “The gate of the desert” you will visit the Taourirt Kasbah, one of the most spectacular ksars in Morocco.

You will, then, continue on our Sahara trip from Marrakech to visit is the Rose Valley stretching along the big Skoura palm grove; a beautiful place to experience some of the adventures you may have read about in Bowles’t the sheltering Sky especially the thousands of palm trees and many kasbahs spread along the road. You can also enyoy rose products especially for cosmetics. The Rose Festival is held here ( in Kallaat Megouna) annually in May, it is an important moussem for Moroccan culture. Finally, we reach the Dades valley where you´ll spend the night.

Day 6: Dades Valley – Merzouga (Sahara)

After breakfast the following morning, you will be taken to a small hill from which you can enjoy the panoramic view of the Dades Valley, from this particular place you will see the whole Kasbahs in the region and explore the characteristics of each one. After that, you will head towards Tinghir and Gorge Toudra to enjoy the view of a fantastic cliffs as you have never seen them elsewhere and head to the heart of the desert.

On the road you will have many stops to enjoy every aspect of the nature of the region and you will stop in Tinjdad and Torog to have lunch in one of them depending on time. After lunch you will continue your way to Merzouga. When you arrive to Merzouga, you will be greeted by camels who will take you on a trekking excursion for one hour to the nomad camp where you will spend a night in the middle of the desert, and you will enjoy an exotic dinner under the sky decorated with marvelous stars.

Day 7 : Sahara desert – Rissani Alnif draa Valley _ Ouarzazate

Today on the Sahara trip from Marrakech, you will wake up early in the morning before the sunrise to enjoy the magnificent view of the sunrise from above the Golden dunes and take some crazy pictures. After that you will have breakfast and start out in your journey back. You will pass through Rissani and enjoy the view of the large Tafilalt Palm tree Groves. You will have lunch in Alnif and continue to Tazarin then visit the Nkob Ouasis in the road to the Draa Valley. After that you will pay a visit to the small village of Agdz iand enjoy the panoramic view of the 1660m Anti-Atlas Mountains.

Next, yoo will continue your trip to Ouarzazate and have dinner then spend the night in your Hotel/Riad

Day 8: Ouarzazate – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Tichka pass – Marrakesh

After breakfast, you will explore some of Ouarzazate and visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco is among the UNESCO World Heritage. Your journey will continue through the majestic Tizi Tichka pass, which is as high an altitude of 2260m, over the High Atlas Mountains. You will have a break to enjoy the panoramic views and visit the Argan oil cooperative in the region. And you will arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon. And you will relax and enjoy Marrakesh, then you will spend the night in your hotel.

Day 9: Day trip to Tinmel Mosque

After breakfast, you will resume your Sahara trip from Marrakech and visit a historical monument with a historical importance for Morocco. You will visit the tin Mel Mosque which is located in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco. This mosque was built as a tribute to the founder of the Almohad Dynasty (this dynasty ruled Morocco during the 12th century) Mohamed Ibn Tumart. It is one of the two mosques which are open to non-Muslims to visit and explore (the second one is Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca).

You ill take the Regional Road 203 that leads to Taroudant through Asni and Ouigane Way, you will arrive at Tinmel, the capital of the Almohads and you will explore some of the remaining parts of their Medieval fortress, the royal necropolis shelters, the remains of the founder Abdel Moumen and the Spiritual Master Ibn Tumart. The Mosque has been mended and refurbished but it still represents the Original one and shows the Almohad architecture just as it was centuries ago. In our return journey, you will stop in Ouirgane to enjoy its gastronomic variety and have lunch in one of its small restaurants then continue the journey back to Marrakesh.

Day 10: Depart from Marrakech

You will still enjoy some of Marrakesh today before our drivers pick you up to the Airport depending on the time of your flight. And we will be there to make everything smooth for you until you are at the airport. Thus, we end the Sahara trip from Marrakech.
